Where I Am You May Be Also

John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again, and receive you unto myself;
that where I am, there ye may be also.

Our discussion today is from the mouth of Jesus. There is much to
meditate on in the above verse.

Lets begin with "if I go and prepare a place for you". Understand the
meaning of "if" in the original language of the scripture is actually
interpreted as "if and it is so". The bible clearly defines the Messiah
and who He is. You can bank on the fact Jesus Christ is who He claimed
to be. He is the saviour of the whole world for all who will believe.
So, the context of the verse "if and it is so" would mean because Jesus
is the Messiah he will go to prepare a place for those who believe in
Him.

John 10:27-31 My sheep hear my voice, and I know
them, and they follow me: And I give unto them
eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither
shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father,
which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man
is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and
my Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again
to stone him.

Jesus will give us eternal life if we follow Him. Jesus makes the
statement "I and my Father are One". Jesus declares to the Jews that
He is God. It is quite clear the Jews were very offended as they
picked up stones to stone Him. Obviously they had a heart of unbelief.

We have established the fact that Jesus will go and prepare a place for
those that believe in Him. Where is this place? Scripture has the answer
yet again.

John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions:
if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to
prepare a place for you.

Revelation 21:2-3 And I John saw the holy city,
new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I
heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold,
the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will
dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and
God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Yes, the New Jerusalem will have many mansions. The human mind cannot
comprehend what a wonderful and beautiful place this will be. This
heavenly Jerusalem has some incredible dimensions. Some scholars have
estimated it to be 1500 miles wide. Lets get a visual aspect of this
heavenly place.

Revelation 21:10-12 And he carried me away in the
spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me
that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out
of heaven from God, Having the glory of God: and her
light was like unto a stone most precious, even like
a jasper stone, clear as crystal; And had a wall
great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the
gates twelve angels, and names written thereon,
which are the names of the twelve tribes of the
children of Israel:

Revelation 21:13-14 On the east three gates; on
the north three gates; on the south three gates;
and on the west three gates. And the wall of the
city had twelve foundations, and in them the names
of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Revelation 21:16-17 And the city lieth foursquare,
and the length is as large as the breadth: and he
measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand
furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height
of it are equal. And he measured the wall thereof,
an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to
the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

Twelve thousand furlongs is ((660 feet * 12000) / 5280 feet) = 1500
miles. So we have a heavenly place that is 1500 miles wide and 1500
miles tall. This certainly gives new meaning to the term skyscraper.

If the sheer size of this heavenly city isn't startling, the various
attributes of the structure are.

Revelation 21:18-21 And the building of the wall
of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold,
like unto clear glass. And the foundations of the
wall of the city were garnished with all manner of
precious stones. The first foundation was jasper;
the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the
fourth, an emerald; The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth,
sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl;
the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the
eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth,an amethyst. And
the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several
gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city
was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

We are going to need a new set of eyes as all of the gold and precious
stones are going to blind us.

But, the real wonder is that we are going to be in the presence of the
one who made us. The one who washed our sins in His own blood.

Glory! Glory! Glory!

Psalms 24:7-10 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and
be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King
of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in
battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift
them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of
glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

I Timothy 1:15-17 This is a faithful saying, and
worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came
into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me
first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering,
for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe
on him to life everlasting. Now unto the King eternal,
immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and
glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Jesus, the Messiah, is the LORD of HOSTS! He is the KING of GLORY!

We have an invitation to come to Jesus, just as we are. Where He is, we
can be also! Don't let another minute pass by. Give your life to the
only one that can save you. The Messiah of Israel!

I John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it
doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know
that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him;
for we shall see him as he is.

John 12:25-26 He that loveth his life shall lose it;
and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep
it unto life eternal. If any man serve me, let him
follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant
be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Do you want to be where Jesus is? Then submit yourselves to the will of
God. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be converted. Then you shall
be where He is.
